Who Do You Serve? – Matthew 4:10 Scripture Memory Song

This just keeps popping up.

If you’re new here, each week we all learn about and memorize a Bible verse together. We’ve put the verse(s) into song to help you learn the verse and recall it during your day. If you’d like to see the archives of all the verses we’ve done so far, you can find our posts here and a list of all the YouTube videos here. On to this week’s verse!

Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written,

“‘You shall worship the Lord your God
and him only shall you serve.'”
Matthew 4:10 (ESV)

It just keeps popping up. We’ve been talking about idolatry a lot lately on this blog. Here, Jesus tells off the devil and lets him know that there’s no chance he will worship anyone or anything other than the Lord God. We, on the other hand, need some help with this. The devil is enticing us constantly and it tends to work much more often than we’d like to admit.

You shall worship the Lord God and serve him only - Matthew 4:10. Give up your idols! Click To Tweet

Of course I’m including myself in this conviction. After reading only a few chapters from God’s at War, I’ve felt very very convicted about many of the things I do daily and it didn’t get any better as I went through the rest of the book. So, let’s find our accountability groups and start destroying these devilish idols.
