The Gospel is the word of the Lord.
If you’re new here, each week we all learn about and memorize a Bible verse together. We’ve put the verse(s) into song to help you learn the verse and recall it during your day. If you’d like to see the archives of all the verses we’ve done so far, you can find our posts here and a list of all the YouTube videos here. We’ll also be giving a family update on what has happened in the past week.
Family Update
This has been a good week health-wise! It seems like everyone has been feeling better, and I’ve definitely gotten my energy back! I haven’t felt this good in a while. And being healthy all week means that we were able to finally see my parents over the weekend and do Christmas. It was great seeing my parents, and we were gifted some great things by them and my Nana.
At the hotel, we went in the pool. G was so excited to go, and with the help of some pool noodles was taking off on his own in the pool. He’s expressed interest in swim lessons, and I think that he might actually be ready for some, so I’m going to have to look into it. 🙂

but the word of the Lord remains forever.”
And this word is the good news that was preached to you.
1 Peter 1:25 (ESV)

Here’s more of the context for this verse:
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God; for
“All flesh is like grass
and all its glory like the flower of grass.
The grass withers,
and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord remains forever.”And this word is the good news that was preached to you.
So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.
1 Peter 1:22-2:3
So this is saying that we’ve been born again into God’s family through God’s word (Jesus is God’s word John 1:1).
Since we are the Lord’s, we ought to obey him! His word doesn’t change. He wants us to become like him – with a pure heart.
That means we need to put away all things that don’t conform to his likeness. Our hearts will long for spiritual nourishment from the Lord! As we’re nourished by him, we’ll grow into people who look more like Christ.
