With God on your side, you have nothing to fear.
If you’re new here, each week we all learn about and memorize a Bible verse together. We’ve put the verse(s) into song to help you learn the verse and recall it during your day. If you’d like to see the archives of all the verses we’ve done so far, you can find our posts here and a list of all the YouTube videos here. We’ll also be giving a family update on what has happened in the past week.
Family Update
Joe presented again last Thursday, this time for a developer group instead of at a conference, but otherwise it was a largely uneventful week due to Spring Break causing the cancellation of many of our usual weekly activities.
The weekend on the other hand was quite eventful! G got to go visit a friend on Saturday morning, and then Joe’s brother came over with his Wii U (we don’t have a gaming console) and we played games most of the day. But poor little E was running a nasty fever, and it got so high that he had a seizure! Joe’s mom is a nurse, so we were able to establish that seizures caused by fevers aren’t harmful other than the pain and stress felt during the moment. So we just worked really hard to bring his fever down with some cold wet cloths, infant Tylenol, etc. and he was doing much better after that. He’s back to his normal curious and playful self.
Scripture Memory Song
So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:6 (ESV)
Devotional
I love this verse. We’re often scared of bringing God into our conversations or introducing people to Christ because we fear what others will think about us or do to us. We need to stop caring about what the world thinks about us and care only about what God wants. God has the power to do far worse to us than anyone in the world does, so why do we fear the world more?
Also, man cannot do anything to us without God letting it happen, so if we really trust in God, then he’ll take care of us. And anything God does let happen to us may be painful, but it is intended to help us grow and become stronger.
