Everyone is busy, but make sure you’re not too busy for the most important things.
There is so much to do in our lives each and every day. There’s every little thing needed to be ready in the morning, then when you’re done with that, you need to go to work (well, many of you do). You have everything you need to do at work, then you come home and what do you find? More things to do. If you’ve got kids, they never fail to find something for you to do, whether it’s kissing boo boos, making them another snack, helping them build their tower or do their homework (highly dependent on the age), etc.
Then there are chores, because the house needs to maintain a certain amount of cleanliness or someone will go insane. Then you need to pay the bills, feed the family, get everyone to bed, and on and on until your head hits the pillow. Hopefully, at this point, you’re not so stressed out or anxious that you can’t fall asleep.
Good or Better
Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-42
What Martha was doing wasn’t a bad thing. None of the things I listed earlier is a bad thing. But somehow, they cause you to miss out on the best things. Did you make time to be with God, the Lord over all of his creation who loves you more deeply than all the love in the world combined couldn’t hope to match? He’s the reason everything exists, including you. He’s the reason the sun rises each morning. But somehow we always push him aside to do something far less important.
God wants to spend time with you, so choose “the good portion, which will not be taken away from [you]”. Sit at Jesus feet, by making time to get into his Word and to pray. God is the “one thing [that] is necessary”, so make sure you get your daily (hourly? continuous?) dose of him.

Of course, building your relationship with God is the most important thing, but you must also remember to build the other important relationships in your life. God is all about relationships, which is why there are so many verses about loving others too. Carve out plenty of time to be with your family and friends and spend some quality time with them.
To experience life to the fullest, love like God. Show love to everyone you meet.
